Do you love a good deal? Do you think you’re frugal because you buy everything on sale? Obviously, it’s best to get the lowest price you can on an item. BUT if you’re buying the item just because it’s on sale, you should start thinking twice. If you’re tracking your expenses, take a look back and reflect on your purchases. Were they all things you needed or really wanted? Or were there things you bought just because they were on sale or you had a coupon or it was a steal of a deal? It’s so tempting when you get emails from your favorite store about an upcoming sale or daily LivingSocial and Groupon messages filled with special deals. But if you weren’t already planning to buy it, then there’s a chance you don’t really need or want that thing anyway. Maybe turn off the tempting email notifications and only go to those discount sites when you’re looking for something specific. I was definitely guilty of buying things I didn’t need on deal and what I got was more clutter and less money in my bank account. Now when I need or want something I google promo codes, search the deal sites, and set price alerts. I don’t need any more junk!
